Overview
Learn the basics of crochet, a versatile textile craft where yarn is transformed into fabric using a single hook.
In this hands-on workshop at GIGIPAYNE Studio in Bangkok, you will learn how to create foundational stitches and build simple patterns step by step. Crochet is known for its rhythmic, repetitive motion, making it both relaxing and rewarding for beginners.
This workshop is ideal for anyone curious about textile crafts, handmade design, or mindful creative activities. By the end of the session, you will understand the essential crochet techniques and create a small handmade piece you can use or keep as a souvenir from your creative experience.
Techniques & Materials
Participants will learn the essential crochet techniques needed to start making simple handmade items.
You will learn how to:
Hold and use a crochet hook correctly
Create a foundation chain
Work single crochet and double crochet stitches
Build simple rows and shapes
Understand basic yarn tension and stitch structure
All materials are provided, including:
Crochet hooks
Soft cotton yarn in various colors
Stitch guides and beginner patterns
Throughout the workshop you will practice the stitches while building confidence with the crochet technique.
Your Creative Project
During the workshop you will create a handmade crochet coaster.
Participants will:
Choose their yarn color
Practice the basic stitches
Build the shape of the coaster step by step
You will leave with a handcrafted crochet coaster made by your own hands, along with the skills to continue practicing crochet at home.
